1 ♙ action for the Goldenrod Rocket base
[Dimitri immediately knows something is wrong when his eyes flutter open to the sight of the four walls of a cramped Rocket dormitory.
He practically leaps off of the bed he had been on for who knows how long. His eyes dart frantically around the room.]
Wh...What is this?
[Not right is what it is. The last thing he remembers is heading for the laboratory to plan a new method for gaining Layton's memories in order to complete his time machine. There was no way he could have been taken by surprise and knocked out.
But then...what is this?
Finally, he catches sight of the note on the table. After hastily grabbing it, he quickly reads its contents which...aren't much truth be told, and they only raise more questions. In other words, Dimitri is not happy with that awful excuse for an explanation to what the hell is going on.
Without giving the strange devices or uniform a second glance, he makes his leave. He doesn't have time to deal with this. Someone is going to pay for taking him away from his work.]
[Another typical day at the Rocket base is about to get a liiiittle livelier.
Any of the base regulars may notice an unfamiliar man frantically rushing through the halls. Anyone he catches sight of is going to be bombarded with questions.]
You there. Care to explain to me what in the world is going on here?
[It's clear he's trying to keep as calm as possible, but the shakiness in his tone makes it obvious that he's pretty distraught.
He's so confused you guys.]

[action]
Arrived, kidnapped, stolen; let's not argue semantics. The point is, you're here now.
[[Let him just give you a once over; you're not badly dressed, Dimitri, but dear god do you look like you could use some sleep.
....welcome to the Team Rocket science department, you'll fit right in!]]
Do you have your two Pokemon, then?
[[Work can wait; you seem somewhat more intelligent than the usual arrivals, so he'll humour you.]]
[action]
Also, he feels quite inclined to argue because it's a big difference. Before he can respond however, Kato asks his question.]
Pokemon? What are... [No, forget that. You don't get to change the subject Kato. 8|] So you are admitting that this is a kidnapping, then. And just where is "here"?
[The sooner he figures out where he is, the sooner he can make his back to London.]
[action]
[[It totally didn't, but Kato is a ass (spoiler).]]
You've arrived in a place called Johto; I don't know how you were brought here but you'll find you're not alone. I was also brought here against my will, almost nine months ago. We have no explanation for the phenomenon.
As for Pokemon? That is a Pokemon.
[[Let him just point over your shoulder, Dimitri - Kato's Lunatone is hovering near your head, just out of reach, peering at you with that rather creepy red eye.]]
[action]
He quietly follows along with the man's explanation until he notes how long he's been here for. The panic that just hit him is very visible.]
Nine months? You cannot be serious. I...I cannot afford to remain here for even a day.
[Claire certainly can't afford it either, which is the main concern here.
And Kato, you just had to make things worse by showing that creature to him, didn't you? He immediately backs away from the thing because yeah, while London may have some weird shit, floating rocks with eyes are far beyond that. Just uh...let him collect his thoughts before he comments on it.]
[action]
[[God, I bet you're excited to be stuck with this piece of work, aren't you]]
Besides, it's actually a rather interesting place. Once you get used to the creatures.
[action]
I assure you it was much more dire than that. I was hours away from completing a very important project and I had a bit of a...time limit, you could say.
Surely there must be a way to leave?
[Keep breaking his hopes and dreams and then he'll maybe care about the creatures.]
[action]
If I knew a way to leave, I wouldn't still be here. None of us would, except for a few insane exceptions.
[[Compared to that lot he's the bastion of sanity, right here.]]
What sort of project was it? I can guarantee that you're not going to get it finished for the next little while, at least.
[action]
... Actually, there's something about all of this that isn't making sense to him.]
What exactly is keeping us from simply walking out the door and escaping?
[action]
[[Snickering
like a douche, Kato indicates down the hallway.]]Go, then. Walk out the door.
Just don't say I didn't warn you when you emerge into Goldenrod City.
[action]
...
Several minutes later, he comes back in. It's apparent that his mind is absolutely whirring right now, and...his palm could not be more attached to his face.
Yes Kato he's putting two and two together aaand...]
This is not happening.
[Clearly he's thinking about how awful that music was.]
[action]
[[Not that he really cares, of course. However, Kato has decided that he's tiring of teasing you, Dimitri, so maybe he'll start being a bit more helpful now.
Maybe.]]
Allow me to introduce myself; I am Dr Kato, researcher with the Team Rocket science department. Whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?
[action]
He lets out a tired sigh before introducing himself.]
Dimitri Allen, space-time physicist.
[He considered using his alias, but this doesn't seem to be anywhere near London so he doubts his real name is going to bring any notice.]
[action]
How intriguing. Well, at least, Kato found it so without the little mention of Dimitri's profession.
Now he's legitimately interested.]]
Space-time physicist? That is interesting. I think you'll fit right in around here.
[[SHOTGUNNING YOU AS ONE OF HIS JUNIORS NO TRADE-BACKS DIBS DIBS DIBS]]
Your Pokemon?
[action] Can I just say the juxtaposition of our icons so far has been really amusing?
Well, at least he's already garnered some interest toward his field. Not that it makes him feel any better at the moment...]
Your interest is appreciated, I suppose. But I can only wonder what sort of organization this is to be interested in something so specific.
[Because they had to have brought him here for his profession, right? And since Kato doesn't seem to be involved in the field, they must be up to many things...
Oh right, Pokemon. He pauses for a moment to think about that. He didn't see any in his room, but...judging by the name for the creatures, they must be located inside those devices he saw when he woke up.]
Ah, they are still in my room. If you're that curious to see them, I'll go and retrieve them.
[He's...sort of curious, but his mind is kind of broken from recent revelations.]
[action] LMAO GOD I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE
[[aren't
you
excited]]
It's not so much that I'm overly curious about the Pokemon in question, more that you need to get used to them.
[[And here's Ranpu the Lunatone, back floating around your head, Dimitri.]]
They tend to be rather helpful assistants.
[action] It is a beautiful thing.
[Not really.
Also stop that shit, Ranpu. It's unsettling. Once again he backs away from the Pokemon, but this time in the direction of his room.]
Very well. I shall return shortly.
[And so he does, this time with the two Pokeballs in his hand. With a small bit of hesitation, he fiddles with the devices and releases the creatures inside.
A Shuppet and Murkrow appear on the floor in front of him, looking up at their new trainer expectantly. Dimitri on the other hand, isn't even sure what the heck he's looking at.]
So they vary in shape and size.
[They sure don't look like that floating rock, that's for certain.]
